We're hiring a Senior Tax Manager and a Tax Manager — and we need your help

A lot of what we talk about on The Advisors Table happens in rooms most tax professionals never get into: the meeting where a founder decides whether to sell, where the valuator defends the number, where the lawyer and the tax advisor work out how the deal actually gets done. We're looking for someone to join us in that room.

Cedar Consulting Group is hiring two people for our Oakville office: a Senior Tax Manager to lead the practice day to day, and a Tax Manager to run files and be the person our associates turn to.

Here's the work, described honestly. Reorganizations, estate freezes, cross-border planning, M&A, tax modelling, and second opinions for other firms, run under the strategy I set. The Senior Tax Manager leads the hardest files, does second review and owns our closing calendar. The Tax Manager takes first drafts to client-ready and runs files end to end. Both are mentally demanding, with several complex files moving at once, and suit people who enjoy that.

Who we're looking for: CPAs with In-Depth or an MTax and real hands-on planning work behind them, not compliance alone — 8+ years in Canadian tax for the senior role, including M&A, and 6+ for the Tax Manager. Steady, self-directed people who own results and raise issues early. In the office in Oakville every day — our office isn't reachable by transit, so you'll need to drive in.

What we put in: four weeks' vacation plus a December break when the office closes, CPA dues and professional development paid, no January-to-April crunch, and work across our tax, legal, valuation and US teams that you won't see at most firms.
