Cedar Consulting Group is hiring a Tax Associate (Junior Level) on a dedicated specialist track. We're looking for someone fresh out of school, or close to it, who wants to go deep into Canadian tax — not someone looking for a generalist seat or a bridge to audit.

Here's what the job actually is, described accurately rather than dressed up. The work sits underneath our advisory engagements: reorganization bookkeeping that reconciles to the dollar, troubleshooting with clients' external accountants, tax models, steps memos, CRA audit support. You're not doing the planning on day one — but you're inside the planning files from day one, which is where you actually learn it.

Just as important as the technical side is ownership. This person keeps their engagements moving: their own to-do list, their own follow-ups with clients, our legal and valuation teams, and outside accountants — and a flag raised early when something's at risk of slipping. We give real autonomy and we don't micromanage. In exchange, we need someone who manages their own workload and says where things stand without being asked.
